Tubular Daylighting Device Now Available with Premium Design Options
Solatube International Inc., the worldwide leading manufacturer and marketer of Tubular Daylighting Devices (TDDs), has introduced the first-ever line of designer daylighting options, Solatube Designer Touches. The premium accessory line for the Solatube Daylighting System provides new options for homeowners looking for stylish lighting options for their homes and for designers integrating daylighting into their projects.
“We recognize that adding daylight to an interior space should add both function and design,” said Robert Westfall Jr., vice president, sales and marketing, for Solatube International. “With Solatube Designer Touches, it is possible to use daylighting with more style and impact than previously possible.”
Solatube Designer Touches offer versatile, stylish and contemporary design options for residential and commercial spaces. The new Solatube line is the first to include Dual Lens Array Technology, offering a selection of Effect Lenses, which can soften or warm the light color, and Diffuser Lenses, which control the light diffusion within a space.
The lenses can be combined for visual interest and comfort. The product line offers four customization steps:
(1) Choose Your Style:
White Trim – The White Trim is traditional dress ring that comes standard with the Solatube Daylighting System. The low-profile, white finish blends with the ceiling plane for a clean, unobtrusive look.
Stainless-Tone Trim – Designed to complement any modern design, this decorative trim adds visual interest to the Solatube Daylighting System. The Stainless-Tone Trim is ideal for matching traditional lighting fixture finishes or accenting room décor.
Frosted Shade – This lightly frosted cone provides a clean, contemporary look. It suspends from a White Trim dress ring and provides a visual cutoff to achieve more soothing, comfortable light in the space.
(2) Pick Your Diffuser:
VusionTM Diffuser – This proprietary diffuser artfully blends daylighting on the ceiling plane and has a fine diamond pattern for aesthetically pleasing light.
OptiView® Diffuser – The OptiView® Diffuser offers crystal clear daylight and the highest light dispersion for a unique view of the sky.
(3) Select Your Effect:
Natural Lens – For clear, white sunlight, the Natural Lens lets in all the beauty of daylight without heat or UV radiation.
Warm Lens – The Warm Lens provides a calm, soothing light for any interior.
Softening Lens – This lens is engineered to create a subtle lighting effect by reducing glare and light for a softer look.
Warm Softening Lens – This combination lens blends the effects of the Warm and Softening Lens to offer pleasant lighting that is subtle and welcoming.
(4) Add More Function:
Light Add-On Kit – When the sun goes down, turn on a light. This add-on kit fits inside the Solatube Daylighting System to provide an around-the-clock lighting solution.
Ventilation Add-On Kit – For areas with excess moisture that require ventilation, such as bathrooms and laundry rooms, this kit provides a ventilation unit that attaches to the Solatube Daylighting System at the ceiling level, creating an attractive multi-functional unit.
Daylight DimmerTM – The Daylight Dimmer allows users to control the amount of daylight within a room from the flip of a switch.
Solatube Designer Touches are available with the Energy Star®-rated Solatube Brighten Up® Series, which includes the Solatube 160 DS Daylighting System, illuminating up to 200 square feet, and the Solatube 290 DS Daylighting System, illuminating up to 300 square feet.
