Daylighting Taken to New Level with Complete Lighting Control Integration
Solatube International Inc., the worldwide leading manufacturer and marketer of Tubular Daylighting Devices (TDDs), has announced the introduction of its new Zero-to-10-volt Daylight Dimmer, representing a more sophisticated level of daylighting control.
Architects, designers and lighting engineers can now integrate Solatube Daylighting Systems into existing lighting systems, allowing for complete scene and time control for daylight delivery.
“It is not enough to simply deliver daylight into a space; it has to be properly controlled for optimum value,” said Robert Westfall Jr., Solatube International’s vice president, sales and marketing. “The daylighting industry has become more sophisticated, and this new ‘smart’ dimmer provides the functionality the market is demanding.”
The Zero-to-10-volt Daylight Dimmer provides:
Scene Control
The lighting control system can be programmed to signal the Daylight Dimmer to automatically adjust the daylight for pre-set standard tasks, such as classroom instruction or audiovisual presentations.
Time-Clock Based Operation
The lighting control system can direct the Daylight Dimmer to provide 24-hour light management, delivering more or less daylight for optimal energy efficiencies based on the changing lighting requirements of the space throughout the day The original patented Solatube Daylight Dimmer was introduced in 2002 to accommodate a customer with a school application, and it has since become a popular option within the Solatube Designer Touches line.
The new premium zero-to-10-volt Daylight Dimmer adds a higher level of functionality required in certain commercial applications and is particularly well suited for use in schools, offices and hospitality facilities. The product is currently available with the Solatube 160 DS Daylighting System, Solatube 290 DS Daylighting System and Solatube 21-C Daylighting System.
